We recently attended the Pick n Pay Small Business Conference, just 10 months into starting as a new Pick n Pay supplier. 10 months of hard work and commitment, pushing to make our products stand out on shelves, doing deals and promotions to drive sales, and building our brand along the way.
What a surprising and exciting moment to be recognised and achieving the Award for Best Newcomer 2025! An amazing feeling of accomplishment for what we’ve put in to make Wonder Pop a success on Pick n Pay shelves across the Western Cape. This is what it’s all about for us, making an impact and growing our brand. Partnering with Pick n Pay and their like-minded approach has helped us achieve this.
It hasn’t been easy, growing a small business rarely is, but this recognition is a powerful sign that we’re on the right track. It validates the hard work, resilience, and belief that’s gone into every bag of Wonder Pop.
This milestone is not only about Wonder Snacks. It’s also about the wider ecosystem of over 140 SMMEs that Pick n Pay partners with across South Africa. By creating real conversations, sharing knowledge, and opening doors, the Pick n Pay Small Business team helps entrepreneurs like us grow — both on the shelf and beyond.
Thank you, Pick n Pay and especially Mark Bandi and Karabo Tsele, for backing our journey and creating space for small businesses to thrive. This recognition gives us confidence to keep pushing, keep growing, and keep bringing more Wonder to snack time. Plans are afoot to expand into more regions, continuing our growth beyond Pick n Pay Western Cape. We’re building, one step at a time.
Here’s to more growth, more impact, and of course, more popcorn.
